Correcting personal information
Customers can change or update personal information on file with Instacart. You can change the following—
- Account information
- Contact information
- Address(es)
- Payment methods
- Loyalty cards
- Order notifications
- Marketing options
- Retailer sharing
- Instacart+
You can change or update your personal information in the Instacart app or on the Instacart website.
Here’s how—
- Select the menu in the upper left corner
- Select Account Settings or Your Instacart+ membership
- Select the section(s) you want to update
Accessing personal information
You can request a copy of your personal information here.
If you can’t access your account, you can email a request to [email protected].
You can authorize a third party (an “Authorized Agent”) to submit an access request. Authorized Agents must submit the customer’s request, information to verify the customer’s identity (as explained in the Privacy Policy), and proof of authorization to [email protected]. Proof of authorization can be a Power of Attorney document or the customer’s written authorization.
Deleting personal information
All active users, inactive users, and Authorized Agents can request deletion of their personal information through our Privacy Portal.
Opt-out rights
In certain US states and Canadian provinces, you may be able to opt-out or opt-in to sharing your personal information with third parties.
Customers in the following states can opt out by visiting Your Privacy Choices in the Instacart app or website—
- California
- Colorado
- Connecticut
- Utah
- Virginia
We do not provide this option for other states without mandated data protection laws. However, we prioritize the privacy of all our customers.
Right to appeal
Certain customers may submit an appeal if Instacart has not responded to a privacy request within 45 days.
